WIP: Beach Monkey

by Liz on May 29, 2008

I cast on for my first pair of Monkey socks on Tuesday (5/27), and I finished the leg and heel yesterday, as well as 2 lace repeats for the foot. These socks are gorgeous, and I absolutely love this yarn. I should finish the the first sock tonight!   Flickr.

How the knitter got her groove back.

May 27, 2008

After an extremely frustrating five day period of nothing but knitting hell, I think I got my groove back. I cast on the ever famous Monkey sock tonight in the most perfect colorway of all time. It has just the faintest hint of self striping, in the most wonderful array of colors. dKknits Technicolor Dream [...]

Weekend Knits, Knitting sucks edition

May 27, 2008

SAN FRANCISCO — – The California Supreme Court ruled today that same-sex couples should be permitted to marry, rejecting state marriage laws as discriminatory. The [...]

May 15, 2008

I don’t normally write about politics here (I tend to do that here), but California’s budget crisis is such a big deal to me that I can’t avoid talking about it any longer. It is no secret that I do not like Gov. Schwarzenegger. My 18th birthday was 2 weeks after the recall election, and [...]
