I made this scarf when I took a weaving class at the UC Davis Craft Center. I’m not quite sure why I used these colors, as I look awful in red. The end result is quite gorgeous, even though I don’t ever wear it.
It was woven at 10dpi on a floor loom, using various twill patterns. The warp is an unknown 100% cotton, and the weft is dkknits technicolor smoosh toes in “Love Shack Print” (75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon). After set up, it took roughly 3-4 hours of weaving time to complete.
(If you’d like to buy it, I’ll sell for $25 (including shipping) to cover my yarn costs, or I will trade for one skein of nice sock yarn. It has never been worn, and the only time it has even been outside was to take the photos. Email me if you’re interested.)

Welcome to feministy.com, the website of designer Liz Abinante. I like to design fashionable knitwear garments and accessories for women. I also teach. I'm best known for my original shawl pattern, Traveling Woman. I try to design each pattern with multiple options so knitters can use a different yarn, gauge, or needle to create the project of their dreams.
