First sweater of 2009 is completed! I finished a few days ago, but it has taken awhile to dry since I wet blocked it.
It rests slightly off the shoulders, with extra long sleeves, and hits me right on the hips so my bum is cozy and warm at all times.
Knit with 3.5 skeins of Dream in Color Classy in Happy Forest, the torso is striped with the different dye lots. The sleeves are knit in the darker green of the balls, and it’s delightfully warm and wonderful.
(Say hi to my fat cat and pumpkins!)
It took about 2 months of on and off knitting. I would have finished it much sooner if I wasn’t so busy with gift knitting. Oh well.
I knit this without a pattern, and I’m quite pleased. There are a few things I would change (more seed stitch along the collar), but not anything major.
I didn’t want it to be completely fitted, I wanted some wiggle room so I could layer underneath it. I knit this up with US #7/4.5mm so it would be nice and tight and not super airy.
Happy cardigan, happy day!

It looks really fantastic though. I love the extra-long sleeves, boat neck, oversized buttons. Excellent job!
