(f)Rigid Heddle Loom Disasters

in knitting life

Ever since I got my loom for my birthday in October, I haven’t had much time to make things on it. So far, I’ve successfully woven 3 small projects, only one of which I didn’t have any problems with.

The first one, of course, I was learning how to use the loom, so I wasn’t worried about the mistakes.

The second one turned out really nicely, even though it was a little small.

The third one is supposed to be a gift for my boyfriend’s mom for her birthday, but I ran into a lot of problems with it.

I never got around to tightening the screws so I could maintain even tension, so that was a problem from the beginning. But then, there were cats.

The cats have stepped on this scarf FIVE TIMES. The tension in the middle has been destroyed, and there are so many bits that need to be retightened… but I’m fairly certain it’s not fixable.

But I’m not worried. I love my loom, and I can’t wait to weave more… it’s just frustrating.
