This is the second time I’ve knit Ysolda Teague’s Ishbel pattern, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. This time I used Sundara Sock yarn in Lunar Landing. I received this color in the Sundara Yarn collection: it was one of two for the winter season. This has to be one of the most gorgeous colors I’ve ever seen. It’s absolutely stunning.
Indoors, it’s a lovely dark purple with depth to the color. Outside in the sun it becomes a gorgeous array of purples, greens, and blues. It reminds me of an oil slick, but only in a good way. Definitely not in the drowning-little-birds-to-death way.
I cast on for this project on Wednesday afternoon, and finished it late Thursday night. I wasn’t trying to finish it so quickly, it just happened. Like magic.
I think it goes very well with my lovely necklace (impulse Etsy purchase):
Despite the fact that I knit the small size, it blocked out to be bigger than my poorly blocked large Ishbel that I knit a few months ago. Needless to say I’ll be re-blocking my large Ishbel later this evening.
It shrank a little when I took the pins out, but it’s still huge. A lot bigger than I anticipated for the small size.
This is probably one of my favorite patterns to knit. It finishes quickly and produces stunning results without an insane level of difficulty. Ysolda, I love you. Don’t stop designing, kay?
