I know that many people who speak many different languages have knit Saroyan, Traveling Woman, and many of my other patterns. If you have translated any of my patterns, please let me know – I’d love to share the translations with people and give you proper credit for your translation!
I didn’t realize how terribly wordy my patterns were until I tried to put my meager French and Spanish skills to use to translate them. I got about 4 words in before I started pulling out my hair.
You can email me to discuss the matter privately, or leave me a comment here or on Ravelry.
Thank you! (Or rather: merci, gracias, etc)
I should have a new pattern up on the blog next week – keep your eyes peeled! It might even be two patterns if I start to feel ambitious.

Welcome to feministy.com, the website of designer Liz Abinante. I like to design fashionable knitwear garments and accessories for women. I also teach. I'm best known for my original shawl pattern, Traveling Woman. I try to design each pattern with multiple options so knitters can use a different yarn, gauge, or needle to create the project of their dreams.

Ooh new pattern! Yay!
How’s this for fun? Use Google’s Language Tools to translate. I can imagine a lot of disjointed sentences coming out though.
.-= Jocelyn’s last blog: It’s not Ian but he sure is tall =-.
I did the travelling woman shawl lately and loved it.. did it from the original, but would be glad to supply a translation into German for you, if you are interested. For the other patterns, too!
Hi!
I told you that i will translate your Travelling pattern in french… it’s done! I’ll make a post in my blog with the pdf… i hope i did’t make mistakes.
Bye et thanks again for your beautiful shawl!
Hello Liz,
I’ve found your pattern Soroyan today and would like to offer you a German translation. Are you interested?
I know many German knitters (also on Ravelry), who are afraid of working with English instructions, but will like your scarf design for sure.
I’m a native German speaker.
With best regards
