I apologize for my delay in posting the correction, but I was out of town until very late last night and have many obligations to attend to this weekend. I will be responding to emails, PMs, and ear burns tomorrow evening. Thank you everyone for your patience!

Ready, Set, Go !! Yay!
Big Happy Smile here! :o)
I’m ready to cast on and start NOW!!! Thank YOU!!!
Wow…I’m already stuck. This can’t be good. By my count, the stitches should be 2-6-9-6-2 at the end of the set-up, giving the called for 25.
Row 1 of the table, the first texture section… k1 (1 stitch from set-up), ssk (2 stitches), m1l, p2 (2 stitches), yo, slm. That only accounts for 5 stitches from the set up, right? Have I lost my mind?
Vielen Dank und liebe Grüsse
Meggy
Los gehts !
I’m going to eat lunch and then sit down and get started. I can’t wait to see what it will look like in the end. But, I have to start it first! Have fun everyone!! I know I will.

Not sure whether I’m right about this, but at the end of row 5 of the set up, there should be 9 stitches in the center and 6 on either side (excluding the garter border). But the first section of texture takes 5 stitches before slipping marker, and then the center takes 10, and then the second section of texture takes 6. So the first stitch of the center belongs with the texture, and the slm has to be moved over one?
Yippe! I waiting my knitting group to come over so we can all cast on together tonight while watching Roxanne!!
Thanks so much… I’m looking forward to starting this one! :)
OK! Thanks!
I wil begin tomorrow – jipppieeh!

it has begun…
am I just being thick? I’m on row 6 and I’m already stuck!
row one of the chart, in the first texture section seems to account for 5 of the 6 stitches. Should there be a k1 after the yo or something?????
help, please.
Hi, I just started knitting the first clue up and I noticed that the 1st row of the chart in the 1st texture section there is only 5 sts given, but in the last row of set-up, we should have 6. Is this a typo, or am I just reading it wrong?
I finished the first part of the KAL. Less than 20 rows didn’t take too long to do. Can’t wait to see what comes up next week!!!
So exciting! I can’t wait to get started!
Thankyou :oD x
I’m having problems too. I think it’s with the “ssk” bit. How does that decrease anything? Do you pass a slipped stitch over at some point or what?
The problem I found is that the marker is in the wrong place. I took out my middle two stitch markers and then did the row again and replaced the markers on the next row. Everything worked out fine. Hope that this helps.
According to some wise and helpful knitters on the KAL Rav forum for this, Row 1 of the chart should probably be:
Row 1 of chart is:
k2, slm, yo, k1, ssk, m1L, p2, k1, yo, slm, k3, m1L, k1, yo, k5, slm, yo, k1, ssk, m1L, p2, k1, yo, slm, k2
Of course we would want confirmation from the designer on this. It looks good when done this way to me though.
Thanks for the correction. I treated it as a “red herring”–after all this is a mystery!–fudged a little and ended up the chart correctly! I don’t think it looks too different but realize my correction isn’t correct. OK third time starting should work. :)
Liz – in the correction that you wrote out above, I believe the “slm” got left out after the K5
I’m not sure if this was answered already but I still don’t see it – what yardage do we need to do this shawl? Also, what weight? (Fingering I assume?)
Thanks!
Are the “texture” sections supposed to be identical, as they are in written in the table, or “mirrored”? I seem to have opened Pandora’s box with this question – sorry.
WHAT?? only clue 1?? I want all clues right now!! LOL
Looking forward to the next clue!
Just one (stupid) question. I’m doing this on straight needles, I don`t work well with circulars (understatment to say I irrationally hate them XD), so far it looks OK but… ¿Is there any difference?
I thought I figured it out but was wrong. Thanks for the corrections. I did it for the third time and finally got it right! I was even doing my M1L the wrong way!
This is probably a very silly question, I only see 4 stitch markers used in clue #1 so where do I add the 2 remaining stitch markers? see a very silly question huh?!?…he he he
doh!!! I just see where they are now….he he he…
where is Clue#2 ? because I ‘ve received an email this morning which said to me that Clue#2 is on the blog today?
What’s happen? thanks a lot.

I found your Kal on Ravelry is it too late to join? I would love to knit this shawl as I have several 450 yards of fingering hanging out it my stash with no home.
Good luck with the move to chi- town, Liz! NorCal will miss you!!
I cannot read the initial clue #1 due to overlap with information on the right side of screen. Thank you
