I’ve been lusting after a Kindle for awhile. It’s not exactly a big secret. I’m a voracious reader and I’ve run out of space on my bookshelf, as well as money in my account to buy another bookshelf. When the Kindle for iPhone app was released, I mocked it at first… but now, I’m its biggest fan. I’ve read 13 books on my iPhone since the application came out. Scary thought.
Just imagine how much damage I’ll do with a real Kindle? I’ll definitely meet my goal of 100 books this year.
I told myself if I read enough books regularly on my iPhone to warrant a purchase of the Kindle, I would start saving for it. Well, I think reading 13 books on my teeny tiny iPhone screen is enough to warrant purchasing a Kindle.
The Kindle is set to arrive on my doorstep this Tuesday, and it will give me plenty of time to fill it up with good books to read for the almost two weeks I’m traveling around London.
What’s on my to-read list? Delightful urban fantasy (with the occasional paranormal romance thrown in), loads of Virginia Woolf, a few Christopher Moores, and who knows what else. My to-read shelf is not exactly lacking. Most of the books I love to read (urban fantasy ftw!) I finish in one or two intense sittings, other books take longer and I tend to flip back and forth between one urban fantasy, and one more “serious” read.
I’m done with this semester of grad school on Wednesday, which means I have 3 months to read as much as humanly possible before going back this fall. Imagine how many books I’ll get to read between now and then! Amazing.
I’ll take suggestions for books now if anyone has some!

Welcome to feministy.com, the website of designer Liz Abinante. I like to design fashionable knitwear garments and accessories for women. I also teach. I'm best known for my original shawl pattern, Traveling Woman. I try to design each pattern with multiple options so knitters can use a different yarn, gauge, or needle to create the project of their dreams.

You will love it! I got mine last week for my birthday; it’s really a great device, especially for those of us with Bursting Bookshelf Syndrome. :)
If only the price is lower I’d get the new Kindle DX :) but till then my Sony reader is doing great! I can’t imagine life without it :)
