Today was preview day for Stitches West – just a short three hours for students to come in and take a peek at the different booths and what they all have to offer. Didi (Little Red Bicycle) and I got to put up our awesome banner – with the help of a chair and a much taller person than myself (or Didi the Tiny).
Didi and I came into Santa Clara yesterday and did most of our set-up then. We walked around a lot and looked at other booths – mostly out of jealousy. Some people have been coming to Stitches for years, and have great booth set-ups. It’s a little scary being around that much yarn and not being able to have it all! I made a few purchases… but yeah.
I also got to meet a lot of knitters from Ravelry! It was fun finally putting faces to ravatars. It also turns out that I can’t leave the booth for more than a minute or two at a time or else 10 people walk up and ask about Traveling Woman!
So here are some pictures of our booth set-up and the stuff we have available this year. As crazy as it sounds, Didi and I are already planning for next year. Click any of the pictures to enlarge:
So that’s the preview! Hopefully I’ll see you this weekend. Make sure to introduce yourself, too! Bring your Traveling Woman shawls and Saroyans – I’ve seen so few in person. I’ll be posting a gallery of them when the show is over.

Welcome to feministy.com, the website of designer Liz Abinante. I like to design fashionable knitwear garments and accessories for women. I also teach. I'm best known for my original shawl pattern, Traveling Woman. I try to design each pattern with multiple options so knitters can use a different yarn, gauge, or needle to create the project of their dreams.

Great preview, Liz. Best of luck to you both for the show – although I hope you don’t sell all the yarn because I’m waiting for some Venus fingering and worsted. :P
.-= Jocelyn’s last blog: More yarn? =-.
I’m always beaming when you post stuff that you’ve accomplished, E. This is huge! Your own tradeshow and of course people are going to be asking about your knits.
