This looks like fun! I’ll join in and try to finish as many as I could.
Good thing I am tidiying up my stash tonight so I can set aside yarns for these.
I take these are mostly single skein cowls?

This KAL came at just the right time!! Have been wanting to do some cowls for myself and Christmas gifts…. so this will help me get a jump on both desires. (And the idea I might start Christmas knitting before October or November… well that will be novel!!
THANK YOU for hosting this and allowing us use of your patterns!!!!

This looks like So much fun! I’ve already got my first yarn figured out. Any way to tell us how much yarn was used on each of these? Or should we look at them as using the full yardage shown for the skein?

Thanks for hosting this. :)

Liz,
tonight I received an email announcing this KAL and directing me to the blog. I really want to try to do this, but am disappointed that I did not know about this sooner.

I know it is my fault, I don’t have time and energy to read all the blogs of designers that I enjoy. And I realize that designers have time constraints, also. That said, one designer sends scheduled email updates (usually very short) that refer me to the blog when something new is coming. Would that be possible for you? I know you have lots to do; but I would appreciate any suggestions on how to stay better informed when time is so precious. I just scrolled down to submit and see the boxes…….and checked the notify me of new posts by email….is that new? or did I just mess up and not see it before….kicking myself for lack of technical skills :(

Thanks for doing this; I am hoping I can keep up :)

I am so excited about this that I leapt out of bed this morning and ran down the stairs to find out if the the first pattern had been released. I bought my wool and needles yesterday and am raring to go! This will be my first KAL and my first cowl. I will have to check the difference in time zone between CST and GMT.

So excited.

perfect timing. I’ve been wanting to make some cowls.
One question though, for the Weeble Wobble pattern, the yarn is 510 yards, did you use a full skein? Just curious what your left over weight was. Most of my skeins are 375-425 yards. Just trying to be prepared. Thank you for the preview makes deciding yarns much easier!

The cowls look positively great! I live in a desert and am nearing the time of year when I cannot stand anything around my neck………..except possibly a wet towel! I have cowls and do use them as a style booster during the winter months and know that they can be a great wardrobe addition.

You can view yarn requirements here. Weeble Wobble cowl is approximately 410 yards.

Debrielle Welch February 8, 2012 at 7:12 pm

I really enjoyed knitting the flurries cowl and I can’t wait to start the next one.

Thank you for doing the cowl KAL. It inspired me to do something different (& quick too!) as I usually do more shawls than anything.

I knitted a Traveling Woman shawl for a friend and liked it so much that I am making one for myself.
