Krista, you have to turn the piece to find the other three stitches. It's certainly awkward, but common. Good luck! :)
Liz, this pattern is amazing, thank you!!! :) I cannot wait to cast on in a new skein of a handdyed sock yarn that just arrived today! Stardust is an all time fave movie here too. :)

Help - I can't figure out your set up row. "Pick up 3 sts from the long garter stitch edge followed by 3 sts from the cast on edge." Please explain. I tried it and it doesn't make sense to me. Is there another easier way to get it to 9 sts.

I really like the idea of your pattern. It sounds like a real pretty one. I like the seed stitch added. But from the 4 rows you wrote out I can't tell which is the seed stitch row. If I knew that I think I'd be able to knit the shawl. You do good designs. I've seen pictures of some of them. Thank you for giving them for free. I'm disabled and can't work,so no money to buy patterns. Could you please let me know which is the seed stitch row so I can knit this shawl? Thank you. Karen

Thank you for such a lovely pattern. I have finally finished this today - my 1st shawl, & have enjoyed your pattern very much. I plan to start on Saroyan hopefully soon!

Love this. I keep buying sock yarn but can't quite bring myself to make a pair. I have some very special socks that rock that would be perfect for this!

[...] I used up almost every inch of all 3 skeins and I love every inch of it. You would too if you made one in Malabrigo Silky Merino (which is one of my favorite mass produced yarns). It’s a pretty big shawl – roughly the same size as my Springtime Bandit, but a different shape. Seriously, heavenly. I didn’t care for the textured pattern all that much. It looks lovely, but it wasn’t really worth the effort. I probably would have been just as pleased had I knit a large Yvaine. [...]
