Hi all,
The Buckeye afghan for my husband, rabid Buckeye fan is underway - about 15 inches knit so far. I had to drop it for a couple of weeks to knit yet another baby sweater (my fourth this year) for granddaughter. But I’m back to the afghan and enjoy seeing it grow relatively quickly on size 10 needles.
I’ll post an in progress photo next time I have the camera out. Jean (jeanfrances on Ravelry)
Seems like the Rav group is having more activity than this blog… So Liz, where should we post stuff really?
Anyways. I came back from Bali on Sunday, and realized I’ve missed doing my lace Luna Moth quite a bit. I got around the 23rd row, and the pattern’s beginning to show. This is my first lace, and I need advice on how to safely and un-messily tink with lace patterns… I’ve had trouble on my 21st row’s sk2p. I counted 1 less stitch than what was prescribed, and I tried unraveling it without much success. So I ended up ignoring the mistake and hoping it won’t show too much…
Will try and post a progress pic soon. Here or in Rav.
I digressed from my original plan of knitting the Luna Moth Shawl because I couldn’t resist the temptation of casting on my Sunflower Sling with Mondial Vulcano:

But! I hope I can start casting on by next week after I finished preparing for my 10-day vacation starting at the end of the week (going to Bali, yay! will take photos of the Luna shawl on the beach) and handing out assignments for my coworkers.
Hi all, I am Julie, AllEars on Ravelry. I watch football when I am so tired or sick I can’t move, or when I want some companionship. DH watches every game televised. Doesn’t matter what the teams are, football is on if it’s August-Super Bowl Sunday. Last weekend was a Kansas vs. USF. I thought it was University of San Francisco, but it was University of Southern Florida. The things I learn every day!
So this may possibly be the very best KAL for me. I have signed up for a mystery KAL with my LYS and it’s a lap blanket. The clues come 2-3 times a week. I cast on last weekend and hope to be done with 28 rows by the end of this weekend. (Unfortunately, my time management estimates and actually time available are wildly out of sync.) I’d also like to get some WIP done: a scarf for my daughter, a pair of mittens for a swap and there’s more. See lack of time management skills and so on.
GO team! Julie
Hi all,
I’m a bit late on the introduction so I figured I better get a move on it. I am annababi on ravelry and blogspot. I was excited about this KAL because I love watching football and knitting. Something so comforting about the two things. I live and work in NYC with my boyfriend of 8 years. I work in computers all day so knitting is my way to be creative and unwind. I learned to knit over 40 years ago as I was taught by my Mom and during the 70s and early 80s I knit quite a bit, but then lost interest. About 10 years ago I started up again and my stash grew yet again!
I’m knitting a shrug for this project and the progress I made on the first game was ripped out and restarted on the second game. It’s going along better now and so I hope to be able to post some pictures soon. I’m using mohair which is a real pain to have to unknit!
Looking forward to hearing more about everyone’s projects.
Mucho progress has been made on the Favorite Cardigan from Custom Knits!
Hopefully, the blocking will help prevent the bust puff-age. All I have left are the sleeves!
Hi!
It was about time I did my intro post, sorry!
I’m Marjorie, aka Elvar on Ravelry. I actually like going to football games. When it’s not snowing that is, hehe. But watching it on tv…not so much. Too fast and too small for me. Knitting will be a welcome diversion! I’ll probably be watching CFL games more than NFL games for the first few months though.
Oh, and I almost forgot: I will be knitting the Vintage Baby Cardigan. I actually casted on a few days ago. Here’s my project page: Louka’s Autumn Cardigan. I’m making it for my friend Marie-Claude’s baby, who just turned one at the beginning of the month.
Thanks for doing this Liz! It’ll be fun.
Marjorie
I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. My name is Heather. I go by Punky Purls on ravelry, blogger, and etsy. I am a stay at home mom of 3. My husband, kids and I live in Washington State. My husband Travis is in the Military. I love to knit, spin and sew bags for my etsy shop. I also enjoy hangin with my family. My sister knits too and has joined this KAL she is Shawna aka Lamby Knits. It’s really cool to have a sister who enjoys the same hobby as me. The definite upside is I get all her leftovers
(Hi Shane)
I started my football kal project the other day during my nephews College game that was playing on ESPN. I figured that it would be okay since I was knitting during a televised game…right? I am knitting a February Lady Sweater in Dream in Color Classy. I am loving it so far. I just started the lace pattern. It’s a fun knit and looking good so far. If I finish this…I will probably finish some of the WIP’s that I have on the needles. I can’t wait to see everybody’s knitting during this season.
Happy Knitting and football or non-football watching!
Hello everyone. I’m actually a big football fan but I like to do something while I watch football so I’m very, very excited about this KAL! I think I’ve figured out what I’m going to work on. I have a whole bunch of cascade 220 superwash is tons of colors for a blanket for my daughter (my son already has one). So I think I’ll do the Mason Dixon Log Cabin Blocks, the small ones. Sort of scrappy, like a quilt, but knitted.
Oh, I’m Heather Whiting, from Northern California, SF Bay Area - I have a blog, but it is for my business (I haven’t started one for my knitting yet). I’m hmwhiting on Ravelry and I’m Heather M Whiting on flickr (I think). I really, really need to update Ravelry.
Oh, Do Pop Warner games count too?

Hi,
I actually enjoy football season - I get SOOO much done during it. I am working on afghans for all of the girls/women in our family for Christmas this year. I have 5 done, and 7 to go. Hopefully, I am going to finish all 7 during football season - I need to be done by December 23rd! Wish me luck!
