I can finally stop being bitter and stop resenting all of my friends who have gone abroad. You know why? I’ve just purchased a ticket for a lovely 9 day stay in London!
I’ll be going for Thanksgiving break (I have the full week off, thank you state schools!!) and I’m already planning on spending one day in Paris, since it is only a two hour-ish train ride away. I’m considering doing some additional traveling via train while I’m there. Does anyone have suggestions for places I should visit? I’m feeling quite overwhelmed by my very short amount of time, but very excited nonetheless.
I’m considering Amsterdam and Brussels in addition to Paris. Decisions, decisions…

Alex added these pithy words on Sep 25 08 at 3:58 amIf you want to do the proper twee English thing (because secretly I think we all do; I LIVE in England and sometimes I want to), try Bath. Pretty Roman town, lots of history, great food and clothes / book shops and it’s less than 2 hours from London Paddington. x
Alexs last blog post..LoudTwitter: the Twitter food diary?
Robynn added these pithy words on Sep 25 08 at 4:07 amI can recommend many fabulous things to do in London, if you’re taking suggestions. Not so useful on the Continental stuff though. Paris good. That’s about all I can say.
Robynns last blog post..Modesty, so overrated.
SWM added these pithy words on Sep 25 08 at 4:10 amBelfast - Northern Ireland. Its a day trip by plane. Not sure if you are interested in it or not. Barcelona is also pretty cheap to get from London, probably not within a day trip distance though.
Filling in 9 days in London will be easy though. Am sure you have friends there that know the place, but if you need any tips on where to go and what to see that’s off the beaten track give me a shout.
Steph added these pithy words on Oct 03 08 at 2:05 pmYou should go to Liverpool. Im going home soon (to Liverpool!) and its the most fabulous place on earth,a lthough I didnt realise that until I moved away!
Anyway, have a great trip :o)
Christine added these pithy words on Oct 13 08 at 10:45 amHi, I realize this is an older post, but I recently went to Italy to stay with my best friend who was living there. She went to Belgium on her fall break last year and went to Brussels and Bruges…she said that Bruges is definitely the place to go and far better than Brussels
(btw, I found your blog via Ravelry and forum posts and such (I’m Apasionada on Rav)).
Also, Heathrow airport is huge. Just warning you. ;D
