If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament

Screw you Stupak and your anti-abortion amendment. While abortion is elective, it is a legal medical procedure. If people can swindle health insurance companies to pay for other technically elective procedures, why shouldn’t abortion be covered?

Also, why do I have to pay more for my birth control – which is necessary for my health as it prevents several medical problems – than a man who buys Viagra? Is his erection more important than me not getting a tumor?

That, and a big fat “haha, I win, I win, I winnnn” to Blue Cross/Anthem for denying me health insurance and wanting to charge me higher premiums for being a woman. That’s illegal now.

That’s all I’ve got for you today.

(If I get a Viagra spam comment on this post, I’ll be majorly irritated.)

Its very odd that this is a topic of yours, when i just did a project for women studies on being pro-choice for abortion. I honestly feel that its your body your choice if that’s what you what to do. You never know what you’ll do if you were pregnant and wasn’t ready. I completely agree with you. Insurance company’s should cover abortions. I’m not surprise that they don’t. Only because people look at aborting a child as being so wrong and bad, that if insurance company’s were to go public with covering the cost of aborting a child they would be looked down upon. I feel like if insurance company’s did cover abortions then everyone would do it. I believe that it depends on the situation at hand if a child should be aborted. If it didn’t cost so much to abort a child and insurance company’s covered it, women would use that as a birth control. They would be careless.

Thank you Liz for your eloquence and wit.
Today my senator, Mary Landrieu announced she would vote for the health care bill if, and only if, abortion was excluded from coverage.
This is a woman who was elected on a pro choice platform. In case anyone would like to comment to her the office # is 504-589-2427.

I am 100% with you on this…in fact I brought this up to my benefits officer at the place I work. I grew up with awesome health insurance coverage and never had to pay more than 9 dollars for name brand medication. Then I get a job in corporate america and now I am forced to pay the full price. My insurance also covers viagra and not birth control—my doctor recommended me years ago to start birth control for medical reasonings–I sent a note to the insurance company from my doctor explaining my circumstances however they still deny my claim.

Whatever–thankfully enough there is still planned parenthood. :)
