I knit like a madwoman last week and was able to finally churn out my Tilted Duster - almost. I was working from home for jury duty, so I was able to get more knitting time in than usual. I managed to knit up the skirt and attach the sleeves essentially in a day and a half.
This picture was taken when I started working the collar, and I’ve made much more progress since then. I finished the collar on Sunday, but haven’t bound off or blocked yet. That will hopefully be done this evening! If not, that’s what the weekend is for. Working a 40 hour week has seriously hindered my knitting time.
I do, however, have a huge issue with this pattern. Is anyone else getting baggy armpit syndrome with this? I know I am. I am thinking about cutting and sewing (verboten, I know) so that the armpits aren’t as baggy.
I am very pleased with the way this is knitting up. However, in retrospect, I wish I wouldn’t have done a yarn substitution because I won’t be able to wear this until fall. The wool is very warm and cozy, but it’s already above 70 degrees here on a daily basis, and 100% wool just does not work well with California’s spring. I know the original yarn would have been just as warm, but it would have been plush-er (is that a word?) and therefore warmer and suitable for both fall and winter.
Also - project idea! Knit the body, collar, and sleeves for a cute shrug-cardi? Y/N? I think yes.
I’ll post the FO pictures as soon as I finish blocking!
