I have been working on my Tilted Duster since the beginning of February and I still haven’t finished. I don’t have any particular reason for not finishing it (except seaming) and it pretty much sits on my desk, crying out for attention. I finished the front and back pieces, and am about 85% through with the sleeves, but I just can’t bring myself to continue working on it.
Of course, now would be a good time to complete my project because the weather here in California is rapidly transitioning to spring and all of my bulky sweaters and coats are becoming slightly inappropriate. But nevertheless, it sits. Silently.
I am using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes for this sweater because it was my first attempt at a “nice” sweater and I wanted to make the first duster with a cheap-ish yarn so I could see the final effect and fix any errors before I purchased nicer yarn for the real duster. when I finish this duster, I might actually keep it because I really enjoy the color (spruce), but we’ll see how it fits in the arms and breasts.
I do, however, know that I want to knit this sweater again in a nice yarn, with perhaps a few modifications in the pattern… even if I do end up keeping the original for myself!
