This weekend was particularly exciting for me. I had a lot going on, and I really feel like I need a weekend to recover from my weekend. I didn’t go see Sex and the City in theatres this weekend, despite being a huge fan of the television show. I have a feeling I’m going to really hate the film and ruin the experience for everyone else in the theatre, so I’m holding off on going for another few weeks. That, and, well, I don’t feel like sitting in the theatre with a bunch of squealing, bawling, and giggling girls and women.

Friday morning was senior kidnaps for my sorority, so I got to spend some quality time with my big sis and some of my other good friends. I had planned to go out drinking with them that night, but I passed out around 10:30, so that didn’t exactly go as planned.

I also finished Beach Monkey sock #1 Thursday evening. There appears to be a hole one on side of the gusset, and I’m not really clear as to why. I picked up my stitches, and there isn’t a hole on the other side. Oh well, let’s just hope if the second sock has a hole, that it will work out to where they can be on the inside of my feet.

I cast on for sock #2 yesterday, but I’m a little mad at it because I seem to have lost a stitch somewhere, and I keep ripping back and can’t seem to locate it. Grr sock, grr. I suppose the second one was bound to give me troubles since I had none with the first sock. I really need one of those yarn measuring thingers.

I spent Saturday with my mom at the Phantom of the Opera:

mom and me

the stage for phantom of the opera

The stage before the show started. We were practically dead center!

It was a great show, despite the fact that it was extremely misogynistic. I wasn’t expecting much from the show: it has a dull plot and ends badly, but the music is so amazing. My mom was in her element. I actually got a headache from a few of the scenes that included too many people singing different songs, but that’s ok.

We did quite a bit of shopping. Swim suits, dresses, and bras were all purchased, much to my delight. And then I came home Sunday and took my fat cat for a romp in our newly weed whacked backyard (please forgive the terrible cellphone pictures):

Bird? BIRD!

Abbie in the great outdoors

She was in her element. She kept trying to eat the few remaining strands of crab grass, but I managed to stop her.

I’m hoping to finish my second Beach Monkey sock by the end of the week, which shouldn’t be too difficult, considering the first one only took 3 days. I went on a yarn binge this weekend, and I am going to be buying more this week (my favorite etsy seller is having a really awesome sale), so I’ll post pictures of that later.
